William Marshall - 1938 to 1977 | ||||
William
Marshall was born in 1923 and joined Bernard Leach in 1938 as his first
apprentice. Apart from conscription into the army during the war,
he stayed at the pottery until 1977. Then he set up his own pottery in Lelant, along with his son Andrew Marshall. His nephew Scott Marshall is also a prominent potter and worked at the Leach Pottery from 1951 to 1961. Bill Marshall died in May, 2007. |
