Alan Brough is a highly acclaimed potter. He was born in 1924 in Cheshire and studied at the Camberwell School of Art from 1946 to 1950. He started the Deacon Pottery in London in 1956 with his friend Tony Deacon. In 1968 he went to work with Bernard Leach at the St Ives Pottery. He established the Newlyn pottery in 1972. His son, Adrian worked with him from 1985 to 1988.
